This year’s Gruen pitch was to persuade Aussies to allow gambling ads at kids’ sporting events. A tricky brief for sure. Our insight was that more and more people are shunning activities like Melbourne Cup with horse racing and dog racing now frowned upon. It simply isn’t ethical to bet on animals these days.
What if there was something that was ethical to bet on instead. Well there is…. kids! Our idea was to lean into a slightly dystopian vision of what it could be like if we were allowed to bet on kids at their sporting events.
